Welcome to Yew Tree Alpacas

                               3browns 230x168

 The Yew Tree Herd

Yew Tree Alpacas is a small but growing herd of alpacas based in the picturesque village of Anstey near Buntingford. The herd was formed in May 2009 from a base of four girls, Barbara, Joyce, Jessica and Manette. Now, nearly 7 years later we have a herd of 35 alpacas, most of which have been bred at Yew Tree. Both the girls and boys are reared for their fleece which is beautifully soft and warm, a totally natural and ethical product.

Knitted Products & Accessories

Our range covers alpaca socks, hats (beanies and berets) gloves, wristwarmers, scarves and shawls. Most items are 100% alpaca, the main exception being the alpaca socks, which require a small percentage of nylon for durability. Alpaca socks and our other alpaca accessories are very soft and warm, with excellent wicking properties to keep you pleasantly warm and dry. Alpaca is also hypoallergenic, many people who are allergic to lamb’s wool can wear alpaca.

The alpaca socks we offer come in six different types; plain colour day socks, contrast colour Day socks, Stripy socks, Walking socks (calf length and up to the knee) with a cushioned sole, country socks which are long with a turn over top and Bed socks. Click here to buy Alpaca Socks
