About Yew Tree Alpacas

About Yew TreeYew Tree Alpacas is a small but growing herd of over 50 alpacas based in the picturesque village of Anstey near Buntingford.

The herd was formed in 2009 from a base of four girls, Barbara, Joyce, Jessica and Manette. Four new additions (cria) were born in 2013; Bianca, Bruno, Barney and Monty and six more cria are expected this year, with two already born; Alfie and Tor.

We are selling a range of ivory and chocolate alpaca yarns from our Yew Tree herd and can also supply 100% alpaca yarn dyed in a range of other colours.

Our range of alpaca accessories, most hand knitted from our own alpaca yarn, focuses on hats, gloves, scarves, shawls and socks. All are 100% alpaca, with the exception of the alpaca socks, which require a mix of yarns for durability. All are completely natural and ethically produced products.

Scarves, gloves, wrist warmers or beanies/hats can be knitted to order if required.

Alpaca events including alpaca adoptions are also part of our offer - see events section of the website.

I call these my magic socks.  I wear them whenever I need extra comfort because they always seem to be the right temperature and feel so nice and soft on my feet.  I was given the damson and green contrast day socks but I'll definitely be getting more as sure-fire gifts for family members and myself.  They feel lovely!
