Yew Tree offer two walk options;
The Alpaca Stroll and the Alpaca Walk Experience
The Alpaca Stroll
- Initial short talk on alpacas and background to the Yew Tree herd
- Guidance and safety briefing on walking with an alpaca
- Approx. 25 minute walk around the fields at Yew Tree.
- At the end of the walk feed carrots and photo opportunities
- A delicious sandwich lunch or Cream Tea & home made cakes or refreshments and biscuits (depending on the date you choose)
- Opportunity to browse & buy at the Yew Tree alpaca shop
The Stroll is for the slower, perhaps slightly nervous walker . If you are worried about the speed you walk, if you can keep up then this option is ideal for you.
Children 10-15 years can book 1-1 alpaca on this option or share with an adult.
The Alpaca Walk Experience
- Initial short talk on alpacas and background to the Yew Tree herd
- Guidance and safety briefing on walking with an alpaca
- Approx. 40 minute walk and activity around the fields at Yew Tree, off site on nearby footpaths and tracks and on return our agility course a great chance to test yourself over jumps with your new alpaca friend.
- At the end of the walk feed carrots and photo opportunities
- A delicious sandwich lunch or Cream Tea & home made cakes or refreshments and biscuits (depending on the date you choose)
- Opportunity to browse & buy at the Yew Tree alpaca shop
The Alpaca Walk Experience requires you to be able to walk confidently without assistance, at a normal pace. There's opportunity to have some fun at the end of the experience taking your alpaca over jumps and agility obstacles.
The Alpaca Adventure does not involve walking an alpaca but does involve feeding and getting close to the alpacas and includes home made cakes and refreshments and snacks afterwards.
Food and Refreshment
An important part of Yew Tree's walks are the home made lunch and teas afterwards. All the sandwiches are made at Yew Tree on the day and the cakes and scones for the cream tea are also home made at Yew Tree. You can check out the details of each below. Each walk date will have either a lunch or cream tea and cakes afterwards. This is included in the dates diary below.
Book freshly made sandwiches with your cream tea
The cream tea walks do not include sandwiches but there is an option to book sandwiches as an addition to the cream tea and cakes. Note, this an additional pre booked option and cannot be booked on the day of the walk. For £5 per person you receive 1½ rounds of sandwiches crisps garnish and green salad and tomato.
You can request one of our fillings or we choose for you on the day. Cheddar & Chutney, Ham Salad, Tuna mayo & spring onion or Brie, redcurrant & rocket.
