Whilst everyone else was preparing halloween costumes and carving pumpkins last weekend Yew Tree Alpacas were very busy taking part in Alpaca Showtime 2015!

The two day event ran from Saturday 31st October - Sunday 1st November at the brand new Houghton Hall Equestrian and Alpaca Centre, the large scale event had an amazing 280 entries from over 45 different herds across the country spanning from Carlisle to the Isle of Wight. This is only the second Alpaca Showtime event ever held with the first taking place last March 2014 shorlty after the centre's stunning renovation.

We were very excited to enter three of our young males into two of the Showtime classes, Tor and Boris entered the White Intermediate Boys Class and Dexter entered the Fawn Intermediate Boys Class both for alpacas between 12-24mths. We were thrilled that Boris was awarded 6th place and received some lovely comments from the judges and as you can see he is very proud of his rosette. Despite not being placed Dexter and Tor performed beautifully and from the photos you can see that Tor thoroughly enjoyed his first ever show experience.

After a weekend full of excitement the boys are having a well deserved rest and we all look forward to more success at the next Alpaca Showtime event!
