Our first visit to a local care home came in April when residents and staff from Trembaths residential and dementia care home in Letchworth Garden City enjoyed meeting Yew Tree Alpacas Isaac and Scrunchy. Trembaths’ excellent facilities allowed our alpacas to be out in an enclosed garden initially and then go into their large activities room which had easy access from a patio. Isaac took chance to relieve himself during the visit to everyone’s amusement. We thank Tracey the activity coordinator for their summary of the visit.
What a lovely visit!! To start off the afternoon Penny gave a very interesting talk to our residents about Alpacas, the farm and their wool. Then we went out into the garden to meet, pet and feed the alpacas. The residents absolutely loved it and the Alpacas seemed to be enjoying the attention too. Finally the Alpacas came back inside to greet another group of residents and even gave a lovely demonstration of how easy it is to clean up Alpaca poo!! All in all a fabulous afternoon which will be talked about for years to come. Thank you so much.
