We were thrilled to welcome visitors from our local Buntingford care home Layston Grove and also Jubilee House in Welwyn (supports people with learning difficulties). All enjoyed learning a little about alpacas and seeing the Yew Tree alpaca fleeces and yarns. The visit also included feeding our girls carrots and seeing the new baby cria Annie.
The weather was dry and sunny for the visits. Although many visitors had limited mobility or in wheelchairs the fields were close and the ground relatively easy to navigate. They all coped really well with the uneven ground in the fields and a small slope en route between them.
Staff were delighted that the visit was a totally different type of activity for their residents and one that will be remembered for a while to come.
